by The Editor at 11:07 11/01/07 (News)
The construction industry’s largest trade association, the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), has appointed Richard Diment as Director General with effect from March 1 2007.
Richard joins FMB from the Ambulance Service Association, where he spent six years as Chief Executive. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive of the British Road Federation.

FMB National President, Geoff Lister said: “Richard is an exceptional manager, whose leadership skills will further enhance the FMB’s excellent management team. He has a successful management track record with stakeholder organisations, and will quickly gain the respect of colleagues in the construction industry. We are delighted to have him on board.”

Looking forward to his new role, Richard Diment said: “I am pleased and excited to join the FMB at such a crucial time for the construction industry. Construction makes a vital contribution both to the economic and environmental development of the country and there are many challenges ahead, not least the drive for zero-carbon homes.

"I am looking forward to playing my part in making FMB the prime representative body for the nation’s builders; both by influencing public policy and by offering high levels of added value service to members.”
